The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) provides an annual scholarship award
for junior and senior students who are enrolled in a nursing baccalaureate degree program at a duly
recognized institution by the State Board of Nursing. Only applicants who are members of the AACN and with
active RN (registered nurse) licenses are eligible to apply. Applicants should also have worked or are
currently working in the field of critical care. A grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 is required for
all applicants. This scholarship may be availed of for a maximum of two times.

Eligibility: Applicants
must be enrolled or planning to enroll, either part-time or full-time at a four-year college or university The
applicant should have a minimum of 3.0 GPA (Grade Point Average) in order to qualify. The applicant or his/her
parent should be an AACN member, and should have had either volunteer or paid experiences in nursing. Only American
and Canadian citizens are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Award Details: This
scholarship may only be used during the junior and senior years, and is non-renewable. The scholarship amount is
$1,500 annually, and about 50-100 awards are given every year.
Application requirements:
Completely filled application form, with an essay composition, official transcript of
record, proof of experience as a volunteer or paid nurse in critical care, and personal
references.
