David S. Bruce - Award For Excellence in  Undergraduate Research

The David S. Bruce Award For Excellence in  Undergraduate Research is given to students who have conducted outstanding researches in the field of physiology.  A student who is enrolled as an undergraduate student during the application period, as well as during the Experimental Biology annual meeting is eligible to apply.  An applicant should have first authorship of an abstract submitted for the Annual Experimental Biology meeting.  It is also necessary that the applicant be working with a member of the American Physiological Society, who can confirm that the student has earned the first authorship.

Academic Discipline/Career Aspirations: Health and medical sciences

Eligibility: Both citizens and non-citizens of the United States can apply for this scholarship. All applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll at a four-year college or university program.

Award Details:  The award amounts to $500 per year.  There are only 6-10 awards available every year, and these awards are non-renewable.  The award can be used during freshman, sophomore and junior years.

Application Requirements:  Completely filled up application form, first authorship of an abstract, essay composition and personal references.
