Medical School Requirements

Medicine is one of the noblest professions in the world, but if you want to become a licensed medical doctor you first need to get into medical school, and to do that you need to complete a few medical school requirements.

If these requirements are not completed, your applications to medical school will be for naught, and you will have wasted your time and money and effort. Here is the complete list of medical school requirements:

· A bachelor's degree is a must to be able to get into medical school. While technically you can take any course and still be allowed into medical school because there isn't really a requirement for pre-med courses, there are certain lab hours that need to be completed in order to be considered applicable to medical school, and it is those pre-med courses that are able to give you those lab hours that you need. Examples of these courses are biology, inorganic chemistry with lab, and physics with lab.

· You must have a strong grade point average in order to be able to get into medical school. While this is not exactly a must, you need to understand that the competition to get into medical schools is fierce, so stellar grades will definitely give you a boost up the playing field. A GPA of 3.5 is considered as the minimum to be considered as medical school material, as anything lower than that will make the admissions council think that you are not serious about your grades and school.

· You need to get a certain score in a generalized medical school admissions test. This test differs in each country, but the most popular one is the United States and is called the Medical College Admissions Test. This test consists of both multiple choice and essay test questions on biological sciences, physical sciences, verbal reasoning, as well as a writing sample from you. You need to be able to get the highest score you possibly could in order to make sure that you will not be kicked out of the competition by students with higher grades.

There are many different preparation courses that you can take for the MCAT and all other medical school admissions tests, and it is highly recommended that you do so.

These three medical school requirements are absolutely essential for you to be able to get into med school. Without these things, the admissions offices of the schools you will be applying to will be of the opinion that you have no business applying for medical school at all.
